This project of Odisha Primary Teachers Training & Research Institute (OPTRI), a unit of Subhadra Charitable Trust (SCT) proposes basic education for the children of destitute and deprived society. This is the backbone of our society and without their upliftment, a sustainable and inclusive growth is beyond our reach. Itís education which contributes to the reduction of both absolute and relative poverty. Basic education, in particular, helps to alleviate poverty by helping poor people improve their lives. Mothers with some education raise healthier families.

The role of teacher and education is to build up the foundation infact a concrete foundation for children and provide them a positive learning environment. A teacher makes a lot of difference in the life a child as they are the primary source of education assistance. The most important segment are Primary & Middle level teachers who inspire young learners and frames them into good and intellectual individual’s. What we generally find when we see our survey records that thousands of teachers are untrained at zonal, district & state level and they require to be accurately and skilfully trained for upright education to be served at the assigned level. Therefore, it is essential that the teachers must have complete teaching skills at the time they start working as a primary & middle level teachers. Since a teaching personality needs the skills and expertise to prepare young students for future education, a proper and excellent ability has become almost mandatory if one is applying for a primary or a secondary teaching job. Job prospects for elementary teachers in the coming days are expected to be very promising for which excellent teachers training has become very important infact inevitable. In Odisha Government does not have proper provisions to train the students and the teachers at primary level, basically from STD I to VIII.
Odisha Primary Training & Research Institute (OPTRI) deals with elementary Teacher Training Courses which trains a teacher with the academic and developmental aspects of childhood education at primary and secondary level. Here at OPTRI the training programs are emphasized on subject-matter mastery, training through research and development, more of practical lab exposure and provide many opportunities for the teachers to spend time in real classrooms under the supervision of an experienced mentor. The course gives a keen insight into teaching a broader age group of 4-14 years and has been designed for all aspiring and committed teachers associated with primary and secondary teacher training and education.
